The narrative of Tapio Wirkkala Park, a recently completed commission in Helsinki conceived by the esteemed stage designer Robert Wilson, is laid out in chapters with titles derived from music and opera. Although the planning phase for the park lasted nine years and involved temporary, on-site rehearsals with the designer and project team, the actual construction took place during 2012. With abundant texts, photos and images, the book guides readers through the location, creators, planning and working methods, as well as the parks artistic elements. Special attention is given to the behind-the-scenes work performed by an art coordinator in order to realise works of art.
