The careers of Dimitry Velichkin and Nikolay Golovanov are surpresingly similar. Both were born in Moscow in 1959. Both graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute en 1983. Nowadays both are its professors. Their joint creative work began in 1988 when Velichkin and Golovanov founded "Architectural art workshops" (A&A), based on their experience of work in state design organizations. In 1990 the firm gained popularity due to private orders: designs of interiors and country residences.
