The first book to uncover the lesser-known early journalistic career of Rem Koolhaas presents a selection of his writings for the Dutch weekly 'Haagse Post' between 1963 and 1968. It examines how his interviews became essays that exposed power dynamics and cultural shifts. Through first-time English translations and commentary, alongside the original newspaper layouts, it reveals Koolhaas as a keen observer of his time. Rather than viewing this period as a precursor to his architectural career, the collection presents it as a key body of work that emphasises the significance of journalistic storytelling for architecture, not to mention an essential tool for inquiry and critique.
