GERMAN ARCHITECTURE ANNUAL 2017

For almost forty years now, the German Archi tecture Annual, issued by the Deutsches Architekturmuseum of FrankfurtamMain (DAM), has published crucial information about ongoing construction projects in Germany. In areview by well-known authors, the German Archi tecture Annual presents a shortlist of twenty German buildings, determined by the jury for the 2017 DAM Preis for Archi tecture in Germany. The museums curators, as well as renowned archi tects and archi tectural critics, have an overview of one hundred nominations for the year. In the 2017 edition, in addition to the special appreciation for the winner of the DAM Preis for Archi tecture in Germany, afi ner selec tion of fi nalists is beingn portrayed for the fi rst time. Aseparate chapter is devo ted to buildings by German archi tects abroad, in which three buildings are pre sented. The essays deal with the urgent topic regarding the future of housing construction, as well as German
