Comprising more than 700,000 volumes, the diocesan library in Munster is Germany's largest special library and is situated on the same lot as the existing seminary and the Liebfrauenkirche A berwasser. The building complex of the seminary forms a T, the body of the church runs in parallel to its eastern wing. This is an orthogonal order that stands in visual contrast to the surrounding city structure. A composition that redefines and recreates the spaces of this trapezoid area was the basis of the concept for a new development. The new buildings combine with the existing ones to form an ensemble and integrate the old buildings into the urban surroundings. Max Dudlers new buildings for the diocesan library in Munster combines with the existing buildings to form an ensemble and integrate the old buildings into the urban surroundings.
