Taking as its point of departure the opportunities that the recession offers to creative architects, C3 surveys some 18 small scale, low-budget projects that have been recently completed. Projects featured include: Heatherwick Studios New Creative Units for Aberystwyth Arts Center; Selgascanos Architecture Office; José María Sáez + David Barragáns Pentimento House in Ecuador; JLI House by MCP Arquitectura, Spain; TNAs Stage House, Japan; and, LOT-EKs Puma City project, Korea and Sanlitun South, China. Further, seven yet to be completed works and projects are introduced, while another six residential projects that tackle their rugged terrain through their bold architectural forms are also examined. Illustrated throughout with colour photographs, technical drawings, models and explanatory texts, each chapter is introduced by an explanatory essay.
