The Shodhan house, built in mid 1950s in Ahmedabad (India), much referred among architects, historians and theorists but rarely visited and documented in its reality, has remained a mystery and a curiosity for most due to the private nature of the owner. Ten years after the book first edition, in 2008 for the first time, a book will reveal again the secrets of this villa. It is also befitting , that this book is authored by Marina Basu, an Indian architect, who is also from the Shodhan family. The large format, excellent quality of Jens Fredricksen's photographs, painstaking collection of sketches and drawings from Le Corbusier's archives structures the book around a visually rich tour with rich narrative by the author. Sparingly shown in Architecture magazines, this book meticulously presents the villa through text, photos and original drawings from the Foundation Le Corbusier.
