Resumen del libro
Aunque exista en España una larga tradición de diccionarios, fue con la Ilustración y sobre todo en el siglo XIX cuando se empiezan a elaborar diccionarios especializados. En el caso de esta obra su autor, Pelayo Clairac, ingeniero de Caminos y coetáneo y amigo de Eduardo Saavedra y José Echegaray, tuvo como primer objetivo 'llenar un vacío editorial y compilar un espacio de lenguaje técnico'. Su publicación se inició en 1877 por entregas mensuales, pero la obra quedó inconclusa por el fallecimiento de Clairac en 1908.
Hay que destacar el estudio introductorio de Inmaculada Aguilar Civera que informa sobre la trayectoria profesional del autor y ahonda en el contenido de su obra. En el soporte digital se puede visualizar la totalidad del Diccionario, así como realizar todo tipo de consultas.
